The Jonsson School enriched curriculum springs from the Texas Education Agency standards. Preschool and kindergarten classes have a maximum of 12 students to one teacher. First through fifth grades have a maximum of 1 students to one certified teacher. Out curriculum is planned by teams of teachers to create a rich, meaningful and stimulating environment. Teaching focuses on engaging students around projects, problems, and collaborative learning, nurturing a true community of learners in every classroom. Subjects at Jonsson include reading, writing, mathematics, science, social studies, physical education, music and the visual arts. Other features of our program include:

• An extended year calendar for students including brief breaks in between grading periods
• Early release days every Wednesday for teacher curriculum planning and conferences
• Assessments including the Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills and the Iowa Test of Basic Skills
• Student breakfasts and lunches every day at no cost to families
