Michelle is a bilingual licensed professional counselor and has worked in the mental health field for more than 13 years. She is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin. Michelle has been with SCYFC for 11 years and prior to assuming the director of therapeutic services role, she specialized in family therapy working alongside parents regarding a wide range of issues. In addition, she is a frequent speaker and trainer in the community. Michelle has designed parenting and group programs that specifically target the Spanish-speaking community, whom she has a special love for having grown up in Guatemala. She collects books and quotes.
