| JEJCS Students Present Check at EDS Byron Nelson

May, 2004 — Four sixth grade students from
J. Erik Jonsson Community School were thrilled to participate in
the closing ceremony of the EDS Byron Nelson Championship. The students
presented the oversized check to tournament champion Sergio Garcia.
“It made me feel proud to be chosen,” said sixth grader
Max. “I couldn’t believe it—I was on TV! My parents
took me to my favorite restaurant when I got so we could celebrate.
As the sole charity beneficiary of the tournament, Salesmanship
Club Youth and Family Centers receives a tremendous financial return.
But children involved in Salesmanship Club programs receive many
additional benefits as well. Participation in the opening and closing
ceremonies, the First Tee program and the Youth Clinic at the tournament
are a few of the incentives that our students enjoy.
