JEJCS Students Excel on TAKS

May, 2004 — TAKS scores are in, showing that students at J. Erik Jonsson Community School continue to excel academically.

6th grade TAKS results: 96% passed reading and 89% passed math.

5th grade: 97% passed math, 93% passed reading, and 97% passed science.

4th grade: 100% passed math and 87% passed reading.

3rd grade: 97% passed math and 87% passed reading.

JEJCS students took the TAKS test for the first time this year because private schools are required to wait one year after the public schools begin using a new test.

As publicized, TAKS is a much more demanding test that TAAS. JEJCS compared results with a neighborhood DISD school and found that 20% more of our students passed all of the subtests at each grade level with only one exception. Every JEJCS students in grades 3-6 took the test.
