More
than 40 volunteers spent last Saturday,
Oct.9, enhancing the interior and
exterior of the J. Erik Jonsson Community
School and Salesmanship Club Youth
and Family Centers in North Oak Cliff.
Most of the volunteers were EDS employees
and their family members and friends
who wanted to show their support of
the Salesmanship Club’s programs.
EDS and the Salesmanship Club have
teamed up since 2003 to present the
EDS Byron Nelson Championship, which
raised $6.09 million for Salesmanship
Club Youth and Family Centers this
year. This annual volunteer day is
one more way that employees of EDS
show their commitment to the children
and families served by Salesmanship
Club Youth and Family Centers.
Volunteer projects included a neighborhood
clean-up effort, planting flowers
around the exterior of the Salesmanship
Club’s facility, painting scenery
for an upcoming musical production
at Jonsson Community School, and interior
painting in the Salesmanship Club’s
family center.
This effort is part of the 12th annual
EDS Global Volunteer Day celebrating
EDS' ongoing dedication to making
a positive impact in the communities
where its employees live and work.
In the month of October, thousands
of EDS employees, families and clients
take part in community service projects
in 28 countries and 30 U.S. states.
