HP Gives Back Benefits Dallas Charity
Volunteers to help HP Byron Nelson Championship’s Charitable Beneficiary

2009 HP Byron Nelson Championship Update 5 March 2009
“Defending Champion Adam Scott has officially committed to play in the 2009 HP Byron Nelson Championship. Scott is ranked No. 19 in the World Golf Rankings, No. 21 on the PGA TOUR money list and No. 19 in the race for the FedExCup.”

Our Jonsson School fifth grade completed their school service project last month. Students managed and coordinated a communications campaign to solicit donations, and created, decorated and compiled holiday boxes for Dallas homeless, a project benefiting clients of the Stewpot in Downtown Dallas. Contents of the shoe-box-sized-boxes included chewing gum, playing cards, hand-warmers and hand sanitizers, socks, warm hats, toothbrushes and toiletry items, candy canes, etc. Our students collected enough donated items to fill 78 boxes, helping brighten the holidays for many who are less fortunate in Dallas. Salesmanship decks the halls! Salesmanship Club Youth and Family Centers will be participating in the Old Red Museum of Dallas County History & Culture’s ‘Deck the Halls’ event this holiday season. Our kids are decorating a special Salesmanship Club holiday tree, which will be exhibited along with those from 17 other Dallas-area non-profit agencies. Visitors may “vote” for their favorite tree by making a small donation, which benefits the respective organization.  As part of the event, each agency has a day specifically dedicated to celebrating their organization. The Salesmanship Club is selling holiday cards designed by Camille, a student at the J. Erik Jonsson Community School. Proceeds from the sale of the cards benefit all of the programs of Salesmanship Club Youth and Family Centers. The cards are $25 for a box of 25 cards with 26 envelopes.
