Therapeutic Services:
Clinical Services:
- 1,687 families and 3,368 individuals served.
- Early Childhood Clinical & Assessment clients:
o 83% reported that their ability to manage problems for which they sought help had improved.
o 100% reported that they would recommend this program to others.
- Family Therapy clients:
o 83% reported their ability to manage problems for which they sought help had improved.
o 98% reported that they would recommend this program to others.
- Therapeutic After School Program clients:
o 95% reported their ability to manage problems for which they sought help had improved.
o 100% reported that they would recommend this program to others.
Parent Education Groups:
• 2,132 individual clients attended
Parenting Classes.
• 94% reported that they gained knowledge and skills to be effective parents.
• 96% would recommend SCYFC’s Parenting Classes to others.
Education:
J. Erik Jonsson Community School Achieved Exemplary Status in 2008-2009
- 222 students attended JEJCS in 2008-09, and 75% were school
lunch eligible.
- 93% passed TAKS Reading; 43% were commended
- 93% passed TAKS Math; 46% were commended
- 100% passed TAKS Writing; 39% were commended
- 96% passed TAKS Science; 73% were commended
- 97% of Kindergarten-5th grade students read at or above grade level.
- 81% of Three-year-olds and PreK students demonstrated 15 months or
more gain or scored 'Kindergarten Ready' in English language ability in
one school year.
- 95% of parents reported that they would recommend JEJCS to other
families.
- 88% of JEJCS graduates go on to complete high school graduation.
- 66% of JEJCS graduates later went on to enroll in post-secondary
education.
- College scholarships were awarded to 56 former clients in 2008-2009.
- 79% achieved successful outcomes based upon each recipient's
completing his/her goal during a five year period.
- 92% of the scholarship funds achieved successful outcomes.
Sharing:
Institute for Excellence in Urban Education:
- 91 teachers and 1,451 students participated in the
Science
Goes to Camp program. 92% of these teachers reported specific ways
that they implemented the learning at Camp.
- The Instituted hosted 584 participants in 4 Distinguished Educator
seminars and 2 workshops.
- 6 schools, 1 community college and 1 university received training,
consulting and/or coaching from The Institute staff.
Therapeutic Services Training
- Therapeutic Services teams trained the following individuals
throughout 2008-09:
3 doctoral interns 3 post-doctoral interns 4 practicum students 10 psychiatry fellows
- Reunion Institute trained 557 mental health professional attending 10 seminars.
- 91% of Reunion Institute attendees and 94% of Therapeutic Services trainees reported that they gained knowledge and skills.
- 100% of both groups would recommend the training that they received at SCYFC to others.
