Education
Remember the three R’s of education?
They’re still important, but at Salesmanship Club, we also focus on three other R’s:
- RELATIONSHIPS: Learning takes place within a context, and the joys and challenges of a child’s life need to be recognized and embraced at school. It is our firm belief that the success our students experience is firmly built on the solid, respectful relationships that exist between students and teachers, teachers and families, and school and community.
- RESPECT: Respectfulness is the basis of all of our interactions with students, their family members and each other. Learning involves personal growth, change and a capacity to dream. Within a respectful school environment, these attributes flourish, and reinforce the importance of high academic expectations.
- REFLECTION: Reflecting on our practices, creating quiet time for students to be mindful about their learning, and teaching children about the brain itself creates an environment that shifts away from rote memorization and toward authentic and long-term learning.
Added all together, these six R’s = a 7th: RESULTS.
