Science Goes to Camp
For many urban students, earth and life science are particularly challenging subjects. Surrounded by the city and having limited or no experience in rural or natural environments, the learning curve is steep.

At Salesmanship Club Youth and Family Centers, science is brought to life with the hands-on approach offered by our Science Goes to Camp program. It is directed at 4th and 5th grade students and teachers in Dallas and surrounding districts. Our materials and classroom activities are aligned with the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) and complement district curriculum.
Opportunities for students to explore and observe science in action occur both in their own schools and during a day trip to Salesmanship Club’s 1,400 acre camp in East Texas. Through the program, students begin to perceive themselves as scientists. Our goals are to IGNITE CURIOSITY, BUILD VOCABULARY and create opportunities to LEARN LIKE A SCIENTIST.
