Therapeutic After School Program

Kids in elementary, middle and high school are all growing up fast!  As they seek to establish their own identity and take steps toward independence, not every step may seem solid or sensible.  This often creates confusion and tension at home and at school.

The Therapeutic After School Program works with families with children (age 10-14) who are ready to slow down, take a deep breath and participate in engaging, experiential activities that are focused on:

  • Improving self-control
  • Strengthening communications
  • Improving problem-solving
  • Increasing respect for self and others

Families must make a twelve-week commitment to this program.  Youth participate after school on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.  All family members participate on Tuesday nights and enjoy a Family Dinner prepared by two great cooks who understand that everything in life is easier to cope with when there is a good, hot plate of food in front of you.

The Therapeutic After-School Program is strength-based.  Kids and families learn to focus on what they are doing right and how their unique strengths can help them through difficult times.

The program is offered at our Harry Hines campus located at 9705 Harry Hines Boulevard.  For kids from some schools in the Harry Hines/NW Hwy neighborhoods, transportation from school to our campus is provided as part of the program.  Program fees are affordable, and scholarships are available.
