Therapeutic Summer Program
School’s out!
Many kids in the elementary, middle and high school years are looking for fun, meaningful activities during the summer, but not all kids are a good fit for all programs.
As kids seek to establish their own identity and take steps toward independence, not every step may seem solid or sensible. This often creates confusion and tension at home, at school and in traditional summer recreational programs.
The Therapeutic Summer Program works with families with children (age 10-14) who are ready to slow down, take a deep breath and participate in engaging, experiential activities that are focused on improving self-control, strengthening communications, improving problem-solving and increasing respect for self and others.
Families must make a five-week commitment to this program and can register for Session I or II:
- Session 1: June 11, 2012 – July 13, 2012
- Session 2: July 18, 2012 – August 24, 2012
Youth participate Mondays-Fridays from 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. The Therapeutic Summer Program is strength-based. Kids and families learn to focus on what they are doing right and how their unique strengths can help them through difficult times at home and at school.
The program is offered at our Harry Hines campus located at 9705 Harry Hines Boulevard. The cost is very affordable, and scholarships are available.
