Child Age 0-6

Young children are a handful!  Even at the best of times, raising a child can be demanding and intense.

Parents and caregivers call Salesmanship Club for many different reasons.  For example, they might be:

  • Interested to learn more about caring for a newborn
  • Worried that their child’s behavior isn’t appropriate for daycare or preschool
  • Concerned that their own relationship with their child needs to be strengthened
  • Unsure how to respond to the “terrible two’s”
  • Wondering why their child doesn’t play well with others
  • Anxious about their child’s transition to school
  • Worried that problems in the family are negatively impacting their child

Based on information gathered during a comprehensive intake interview, our staff will refer each family to the service that can best respond to their child’s needs.  This may include:

  • Therapy – Through discussions with a therapist, participating family members learn better ways to interact with each other, resolve conflicts, address specific issues and seek a brighter future.  For families that are feeling distant, disconnected or torn apart, therapy may be a great first step toward change.
  • Treatment Groups – As the name implies, instead of meeting privately with a therapist, treatment groups bring different families together to discuss their challenges.
  • Parent Education – Kids don’t come with an instruction manual, but participants in Parent Education classes receive plenty of practical advice.  We encourage moms, dads, and caregivers to attend one of the many classes we offer.
  • Assessment – When one or more of the above options have not resulted in a family’s ability to reach their goals, Salesmanship Club staff and the family may together opt for an assessment to better understand the cognitive, social or emotional challenges a child may be experiencing.
