Undergraduate Teacher Training

What better way to improve our education system than to prepare new teachers for the classroom?

In the interests of ensuring a steady, qualified stream of new teachers into our local school districts, the Jonsson School is working with El Centro College and the University of North Texas, Dallas campus, to provide pre-service teachers with real life experience. And we don’t just mentor new teachers, we share our passion!

Each year, over thirty undergraduate students seeking degrees in education participate in several coached classroom observation sessions. In short, we ensure that their academic studies are supplemented with real-life practices.

Teacher interns are mentored at Jonsson School under the guidance of experienced teachers. Together with their university professors, we join forces to help each student practice and refine the art and science of teaching.
