Summer Program

Salesmanship Club Youth and Family Centers invite applicants for a summer internship program with the Therapeutic After-School and Summer Program (TASP).  TASP is an experiential group program targeted toward youth ages 10-14 experiencing emotional/behavioral/social challenges.

This position provides direct care to our youth through programming, case management, and parent contact in consultation with masters and doctoral level professionals.  Summer sessions include experiential group activities targeting skills development as well as off-site activities (e.g. swimming, bowling, field trips to local venues).  Interns are expected to participate in daily programming and weekly staff meetings.

Interns must demonstrate motivation to be part of the therapeutic learning environment.  Interns must be currently working towards a bachelor’s degree, and a faculty contact must be identified at his/her college or university.  Only students at the junior and senior level will be considered.  This is a volunteer position therefore no benefits or compensation are offered.

The ideal candidate is high energy, eager to learn, relates well with teens and takes initiative.  This is a great opportunity for students considering the mental health field who want intensive exposure and great, hands-on training.
