| The residential therapeutic program
at the Salesmanship Club Youth Camp came to an end on May 21, 2004.
The Salesmanship Club remains committed to helping boys and girls who
have experienced difficulties and developed
an innovative, new program designed to meet the changing needs of children
and families in our community.
The residential program enjoyed a long history of outstanding service
to thousands of children and families in Dallas. Just as the residential
camping program was a breakthrough model almost 60 years ago, the Salesmanship
Club plans once again to create a powerful, pioneering approach to help
young people.
The Salesmanship Club Youth Camp continues to serve as a valuable resource
for children and families in other Salesmanship Club programs.
Steve Holm, former assistant director for the residential program, has
moved into the position of camp manager. In this role, Holm is working
with staff at Jonsson Community School and in the Salesmanship Club's
family therapy program to develop meaningful learning experiences for
students and clients. Several JEJCS classes and the Boy Scout troop are
planning camp trips to explore ecosystems, animal and plant life cycles, and many other natural resources that are abundant in this outdoor setting.
